JOB GOAL:
The SNA Academic Development Coordinator is primarily responsible for planning, designing, and organizing professional development that incorporates the best of US and Chinese pedagogies; implementing strategies to achieve those objectives; facilitating professional learning teams (PLTs); developing monitoring efforts to ensure effective implementation; and staying current with educational practices.

The SNA Academic Development Coordinator is primarily responsible for planning, designing, and organizing professional development that incorporates the best of US and Chinese pedagogies; implementing strategies to achieve those objectives; facilitating professional learning teams (PLTs); developing monitoring efforts to ensure effective implementation; and staying current with educational practices.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Build capacity for and provide ongoing, job-embedded professional development for adult learners that: promotes standards-driven instruction within Professional Learning Teams (PLTs); encourages collaboration, creativity, communication, and critical thinking skills through the use of instructional resources in the learning environment.
- Collaborate with Academic Principal and Academic Affairs Office to design and facilitate professional development for instructional staff that promote best practices connected to the SNA instructional framework.
- Identify and acknowledge Professional Learning Teams that effectively utilize standards to plan for and use best instructional practices and develop systems to share those practices in order to build capacity within the school.
- Ability to employ effective coaching and facilitation skills to plan for and respond to learning across content areas.
- Support PLTs by teaching, modeling, and supporting collaborative structures; assisting with the analysis of various types of data for the purpose of evaluating instructional efforts; and making recommendations for professional development as needed.
- Ability to reflect and apply knowledge from current research on best practices for improving student achievement.
- Participate in and facilitate professional learning teams to deepen understanding and implementation of the school focus areas.
- Teach classes as assigned.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION, TRAINING & EXPERIENCE:
- Master's degree from an accredited institution
- Experience using current communication technologies
- Successful instructional experience of at least two years, including coaching and mentoring adults
- Experience evaluating, designing and facilitating professional development for adults
- Experience leading professional learning teams
- Active participant in professional learning communities
